Last month, Richard Patrick of Filter announced his new deathstep & industrial project with photographer, composer and musician Jim Louvau. Promising to be “super heavy and be just amazing,” Patrick promised a June 5th release date. In conjunction with their self-titled EP’s release, the band have now released a music video for their track “Jet Engine” directed by Tony Aguilera, whose previous credits include Stitched Up Heart and Exodus.

The song talks about the elite of the United States and the western world. In a statement, Patrick spoke on the meaning of “Jet Engine,”

“Jet Engine’ all started off with a sound from my Sequential Pro 3 keyboard. Once I got the baseline rocking, I added some drums and some ambient textures. As far as what it’s about, that’s up to you. I would rather you come up with your interpretation of it. To us, it’s a call to arms against the newly forming oligarchy that’s suppressing Western civilization.”

He went on to add,

“The Jet Engine of Fuck You was a nickname given to me by producer Sean Beavan during the There Is No Us record; that’s how he describes my voice and the style of music I make. The song is very intentionally rebellious and it came together very quickly in the studio and it’s as catchy as a cold.”

While no shows are lined up for the duo at this time, the EP is out on DSPs and they have merch available if you want to support the project.
