Hallmark Channel is officially kicking off the holiday season with its first Countdown to Christmas new movie premiere, A Royal Montana Christmas.
The network is known for its massive slate of holiday films each year, kicking off the season early and beginning its programming event in October, giving fans two months of holiday cheer and romance as a result.
And while viewers could always choose to go to streaming platforms with several top holiday films, many still choose to tune in to Hallmark each year, watching as the leads of the films feel the magic of the Christmas season and find true love in the process.
The 2025 film slate will surely be no different, with a jam-packed schedule of new titles and some sequels to other popular titles.
First up on the new slate is A Royal Montana Christmas, which airs on Saturday, Oct. 18.
The film stars Fiona Gubelmann and Warren Christie, two faces that are very familiar to Hallmark fans.
Gubelmann has starred in previous titles like Sugarplummed, ‘Tis the Season to be Irish, and The Vows We Keep, while Christie has appeared in Home Turf, Our Holiday Story, Holiday Road, The More Love Grows, Crashing Through the Snow and If I Only Had Christmas.
This, however, will be their first film together.
So what can fans expect? According to a synopsis, Hallmark is kicking off the holiday season with a love story fit for a princess.
“Overwhelmed by her royal duties during the Christmas season, Princess Victoria of elarnia is ready for a change of pace,” a synopsis for the film reads. “Looking to decompress in the days leading up to Christmas, she decides to take a vacation to Peaceful Pines Ranch in Montana, where she celebrated Christmas a child with her late father.”
“Upon arrival, she meets her dashing guide, Huntley Blaylock, who presents her and the other guests at the ranch with a rustic experience that is far from the royal treatment,” the synopsis continues. “This Christmas, Huntley must decide if he wants to step into a leadership role and carry on the family ranch’s legacy as his parents, the owners, approach retirement.”
Victoria’s vacation quickly becomes one filled with her going through the trie ranch experience, and takes a turn as she starts helping Huntley plan the Christmas Holly-Day Dance, showing her a different pace of life which charms her.
Of course, as the pair also start to fall in love, Huntley learns the truth about her royal status–complicating matters.

In the end, Victoria will have to decide what she truly wants this holiday season.
“As Christmas approaches and her time at the ranch comes to an end, Victoria must decide if she should return to her royal life or stay in Montana with Huntley and the ranch she has grown so fond of,” the synopsis concludes.
