Ace Frehley, the original lead guitarist of KISS, has died at age 74, just days after Diane Keaton.
His family confirmed he passed after being hospitalized with a brain injury.
Frehley fell at his studio in early October. He was placed on life support following a brain bleed, following President Trump buchering KISS’ name at an event in August.
“We are completely devastated and heartbroken. In his last moments, we were fortunate enough to have been able to surround him with loving, caring, peaceful words, thoughts, prayers and intentions as he left this earth,” Frehley’s family told USA Today.
“We cherish all of his finest memories, his laughter, and celebrate his strengths and kindness that he bestowed upon others. The magnitude of his passing is of epic proportions, and beyond comprehension. Reflecting on all of his incredible life achievements, Ace’s memory will continue to live on forever!”
Frehley’s estimated net worth was around $1 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth.
He earned this from touring, record sales, solo projects, and royalties from his decades with KISS.
Merchandise and licensing deals also contributed. His solo album in 1978 featured New York Groove, a Top 20 hit.
In 2013, his Yorktown, New York home was foreclosed after unpaid debts totaling over $735,000. He also faced missed tax payments and mortgage interest penalties.

Born Paul Daniel Frehley on April 27, 1951, in the Bronx, he grew up in a musical household.
His nickname “Ace” came from high school friends. He joined KISS in 1973 after auditioning for Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, and Peter Criss.
Frehley became known for his “Spaceman” persona and stage theatrics.
His guitar would emit smoke and fireworks during solos.
Frehley was married to Jeannette Trerotola from 1976 to the early 2000s. They had one daughter, Monique, born in 1980.
