Ron Howard is once again bringing real-life stories to the screen, this time teaming up with Adam Driver and Anne Hathaway for a military drama, Alone at Dawn. The film, brought to theaters by Amazon MGM Studios, is based on the 2019 book of the same name by Dan Schilling and Lori Chapman Longfritz, with the screenplay by Michael Russell Gunn.
Alone at Dawn recounts the heroic efforts of Air Force Combat Controller John Chapman, who stood as the last man to save over 20 of his Navy SEAL comrades during the Afghan war. The story also highlights the efforts of an intelligence officer whose investigation ultimately proved Chapman’s valor, making him the first airman in nearly 50 years to receive the Medal of Honor.
