YTthe nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting independent music in Quebec has presented 50 initiatives as part of a project titled “Montréal, faites du bruit,” meant to enhance the promotion, visibility and opportunities for Francophone music in Montreal.

“Voices from the music community, as well as from the economic and institutional sectors, are drawn to the importance of promoting our music,” says Eve Paré, executive director of ADISQ. “Indeed, promotion is not a side effect: it is a collective decision. We become attached to the music we hear, and it is by working together that we enable Quebec Francophone music to reach its audiences.”

ADISQ is notably tackling this expansion by connecting with its youth. Starting Oct. 1, elementary and high school students will be able to participate in the first-ever “Vote des écoles,” where a fan-favourite song will be voted for and crowned by the Quebec youth and the artist will be nominated at the annual ADISQ Gala. It’s the latest step in their “L’Adisq à l’école” program which is actively connecting young students with music in schools and educational spaces. The organization will also partner with Espace St-Denis to further bridge its educational involvement with the local music scene and performance opportunities. It will introduce a new project titled “La Récré chanson,” which expands on “L’Adisq à l’école” by having one of the artists in its cohort the chance to perform within a curated lineup, and for schoolchildren to attend the show.

ADISQ is also partnering with several key cultural sites and media giants in Quebec to further the promotion of Francophone music within Montreal. In partnership with Place des Arts, ADISQ will host a special show as part of “Les Veillées,” an existing series of six shows that spotlights rising and breakthrough talent, with the winner of breakthrough artist of the year at the ADISQ Gala as the performer.

On the visibility side, ADISQ has announced plans to team up with Québécor, the major Quebec media telecommunications conglomerate behind big companies like Vidéotron, TVA, and more. This partnership, which occurs through the “Faire résonner nos musiques dans la ville” project, will feature Francophone artists more prominently across the city’s digital advertising network, increasing their presence throughout the city.

This new project from ADISQ comes amid a promising growth period for Francophone music not just within Quebec, but globally. Spotify’s new 2026 Francophone report notes another upward year for the language, with 26% more Quebec users adding Francophone music in 2026 than in 2025, and an additional 3 million hours of Francophone content listened to monthly (16 million in 2026 vs. 13 million in 2025). ADISQ is proactively looking to push and build on that growth, creating more opportunities that it hopes will have an exponential lasting effect.

“These may seem like small gestures, but when carried out collectively, they make all the difference. ‘Montréal, faites du bruit’—that’s the starting point. We are convinced that the initiatives unveiled today will have a ripple effect. Artists, professionals, organizations, promoters, media, businesses, partners, public authorities, and citizens: everyone must contribute to the promotion of our music,” Paré concludes.
