All the Vintage Fashion in Taylor Swift’s “Opalite” Music Video

In her living room, the artist attempts to play a game with her pet rock, wearing a color-blocked polo from Ralph Lauren’s archives. The early ’90s style was designed with wide stripes of teal, yellow, purple, and red, and was worn backwards by Swift—a style trick she’s tried out before.

For the swing set scene, Swift wore an ’80s suede-and-sherpa menswear jacket with an Aztec pattern. She paired the teal piece with browns: a cozy hat, trousers, and boots.

One of the only contemporary pieces in the video, these “Sweet Pea” overalls (now sold out, naturally), were designed as part of Free People’s heritage-inspired “We The Free” line. Adorned with needlepoint embroidery and worn in Swift’s pink bedroom, they felt super nostalgic.

For the karaoke scene, Swift went full ’90s, wearing her little red dress with butterfly clips and platform sandal heels (courtesy of Wild Fable). She also accessorized her rock pal with a friendship bracelet for a sweet nod to the Eras Tour tradition.

Paired with her ’80s jazzercise tracksuit (sweatbands and all), these Reebok sneakers were designed to reflect decades-past tennis shoes. Available for $85, the Club C 85 Vintage Sneakers offer a sleek and minimalist look with subtle pops of color for that extra flair.

Swift wore this ’80s two-tone denim vest from Guess over a striped long sleeve for the playful photo booth scene, where Lewis Capaldi joined in on the fun. She paired the piece with high-waisted light-wash jeans, a statement belt, and brown Brioso boots.

Another vintage find, this Basic Editions “Hang in There Baby” sweatshirt came straight from the ’90s, designed in a pale butter yellow and printed with a drawing of a cat—because it wouldn’t be a Taylor Swift music video without at least one reference to her favorite animal. She accessorized with a flower claw clip, butterfly earrings, and a fanny pack.

The final looks of the video—sparkly teal tracksuits with orange stripes—appear to have been made custom for Swift and Gleeson. They’re the perfect match to several of the Showgirl’s merch available online, including a pearlescent barrette.
