Some of the biggest names in pop, rock and hip-hop were honoured at this year’s American Music Awards, but one name was notably absent from the awards list — Taylor Swift.
The MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas was buzzing with famous faces from the music industry on Monday, except for Swift, despite being nominated in eight categories.
Even though she was nowhere to be seen and didn’t receive any awards, Swift remains the AMA’s most decorated artist, with 40 trophies to her name.
The big winner of the night was South Korean boy band BTS, who took home artist of the year following the release of their new album Arirang. The K-pop stars also won the best male K-Pop artist award and song of the summer gong for their track Swim.
One moment that shocked the audience and fans alike was the reunion of the Black Eyed Peas after Fergie left the group eight years ago.

Fergie took the stage with her former cohorts Will.i.am, Taboo, and Apl.de.ap to accept the award for best throwback song for their 2010 hit Rock That Body.
It was the Peas’ first major outing together since she stepped away to focus on raising her child, Axl.
Also reuniting on stage were Nicole Scherzinger, Ashley Roberts, and Kimberly Wyatt of the Pussycat Dolls, who executed an energetic performance in red latex outfits.
It was the group’s first appearance at the AMAs in two decades.
Tones and I represented Australia on the red carpet after she received a nominated for her latest song Gone Gone Gone featuring David Guetta and Teddy Swims.
Billy Idol wrapped up the show in true rockstar fashion. Donning spiky blonde hair and an outfit with pink detailing, the 70-year-old rocker performed a medley of his two classic songs: Eyes Without a Face and Dancing With Myself.
He also accepted the 2026 Lifetime Achievement Award and is set to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in November.
