An eclectic lineup set for Bengaluru’s greenest music fest

As Echoes of Earth returns with its new edition this year, Bengaluru is gearing up to welcome a di verse lineup of artistes who bring fresh sounds, bold ideas and a deep love for the planet. Over the years, the festival has become a powerful platform for indie, fu sion and experimental musicians — a space where creativity thrives amid eco friendly design, lush stages and a com munity of listeners who truly care.Want to experience Echoes of Earth live? Get ready for a chance to experience Bengaluru’s eco-conscious music festival — a weekend of music, creativity, and sustainability. From immersive performances to thoughtfully designed stages, the festival is a space where art and nature come together, creating moments that inspire and connect. Test your festival knowledge and stand a chance to win tickets. Scan the QR code at the end to enter.Echoes is the platform where true fusion shines: Sahib from Jatayu Indie band Jatayu, known for their Carnatic-meets-jazz identity, is set to turn up the energy this year. For band member Sahib, performing at Echoes has been a long-time dream.“I’ve always been a fan of the way Echoes curates live music; it has always been a dream to perform here.” Sahib also feels Echoes understands what true experimentation means.“ All music has elements from everywhere now, so in a way everything is fusion,” he laughs. “But to stand out today, you need a platform that values originality, and Echoes has that platform.”It feels like coming home: Varijashree Venugopal Musician and composer Varijashree Venugopal will present a specially curated set this year, and for her, the festival’s ethos resonates deeply. “This is one of the most uniquely conceptualised and curated festivals,” she says. “It revolves around nature and the celebration of creativity, and that’s something we all love so much. I’m really looking forward to presenting a very special set in this edition.” Varijashree believes that India’s independent and experimental spirit has existed for centuries. “Some experiment that happened thousands of years ago became a refined format years later,” she explains. “That’s why new ideas are so important. Festivals that give an open-hearted space for creators help all of us thrive and look for new ways to express ourselves.”One of the best festivals in India: Derek of Derek & The Cats Frontman of Bengaluru-based band Derek & The Cats, Derek Mathias, says Echoes holds a special place for him since he first attended in 2022. “In my opinion, I feel Echoes of Earth is one of the best music festivals in India. The way it’s organised, its whole angle with sustainability, and even the curation in terms of music… it’s just amazing. I don’t even know all the artistes, but I end up discovering so many new acts which is what festivals are really about,” he says. This year, I get to be on the other side of the stage: Sage For musician Harshita, better known as Sage, Echoes of Earth has been a tradition with friends. Now, it’s becomes a part of her artistic journey. “I’ve been going to Echoes for the past five years,” she shares. “I’ve always gone there as an attendee, but this year I’m going as an artiste. It just feels really special to experience it from a different lens.” She adds, “I think Echoes created a culture that’s a lot more intentional and sustainable. They have so much DIY stuff with the installations.”ALSO CATCH THESE GLOBAL ARTISTES AT ECHOES OF EARTHMADAME GANDHI Madame Gandhi Known for her activism and infectious percussive style, LA-based musician Madame Gandhi blends electronic beats with powerful messages on freedom and femininity.
