Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor once made a request for “16-year-old blondes” during the opening of Peter de Savary’s luxurious Bahamian golf course and resort, royal biographer Andrew Lownie has claimed. The disgraced royal has faced a fall from grace over his connection to the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
The 66-year-old was also arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office on his birthday earlier this year – but was released under investigation just 11 hours later. Andrew was stripped of his titles and honours last year over the Epstein scandal and has since been evicted from his Grade II home in Windsor and moved to Norfolk.
Speaking to Daily Expresso host, JJ Anisiobi, Andrew Lownie made the shocking claim that is alleged to have taken place in 2004 ahead of the release of the updated version of his book, Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York.
“Well, we’ve kind of had a hint of this before in the hardback,” Mr Lownie said during his appearance on the podcast. “When he was in South Africa, he asked the consul there, or rather, his secretary said he likes blondes. And the diplomat said, I’m a diplomat, not a pimp.
“And here we’ve got him being paid to open a golf course in the Bahamas owned by Sir Peter de Savary. And a whole series of requests that go in. He has things like not liking music and not liking lifts. He likes lukewarm water to drink.”
Mr Anisiobi replied in shock: “And this was a request for a sixteen-year-old blonde? I cannot believe that.”
In the updated edition of his book, Mr Lownie also claims that the former Duke of York would send images of naked women to senior members of the Armed Forces.
He writes: “A senior army officer recalled his habit of sending pictures of naked women to senior service personnel, including Roly Walker, later chief of the general staff.”
Also writing of Andrew, he also wrote: “Stuart Halsey, who dealt with Andrew for over a decade when [Andrew] Mountbatten-Windsor was colonel-in-chief of the Staffordshire Regiment, found his conversation limited to golf, helicopters and young women.
“‘He made inappropriate remarks about female soldiers, and also about officers’ wives’, on one occasion saying that while some of the latter were attractive they were ‘not as attractive as in other regiments with which he was involved’.
“When a young female clerk doubled up as a waitress one night, Andrew chuckled, ‘I’ve got plenty of clerical work for her.’”
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing and has been contacted for comment.
