Internet creator Paige Niemann, known for her impersonations of Ariana Grande, revealed a private message the pop star once sent her about their resemblance.
In the new Apple TV+ docuseries “Turning the Paige,” the former OnlyModels creator shared a direct message that the “Eternal Sunshine” singer sent Niemann in 2019.
The message came around the time Niemann gained popularity on TikTok for her uncanny imitation of Grande’s Nickelodeon character, Cat Valentine, from the sitcom “Victorious.” Niemann later embraced her similarity to the singer by dressing up as Grande for Halloween and recreating several of the “Wicked” star’s album covers, including “Thank U, Next” and “Sweetener.”
In the direct message, Grande compliments Niemann on her appearance and encourages her to value her own beauty even when she’s not replicating her signature high ponytail and winged eyeliner.

“i am flattered and i am sure you’re very sweet,” Grande’s message reads. “but i just wanted you to know, i looked back a little ways on your page and i think someone should tell you if they haven’t today that you’re very beautiful as YOURSELF. without all the make up and trying to make your face look more similar to someone else’s and whatnot.”
She continued: “i had to say it because it is the truth. always do what makes you happy of course but if i didn’t say that to you, i’d regret it. you’re beautiful as you are. take care.”
In 2019, the Grammy-winner addressed Niemann’s impersonations in a comment, writing: “I am sure she is the sweetest sweetheart for real.”
Grande then questioned why Niemann decided to use Cat Valentine’s dialogue, adding that “it’s definitely bizarre seeing people blend the two worlds.”
All six episodes of “Turning the Paige” were released on Apple TV+ on July 7 and follow Niemann’s journey as shaping a life and career of her own outside of being an Ariana Grande impersonator.
