One More Time: A New Year’s Eve Celebration of the Aughts at Hotel Vegas
Hotel Vegas and the Volstead Lounge are back with their annual New Year’s Eve extravaganza featuring some of Austin’s best local music talent playing “indie sleaze” hits. Pull on your skinny jeans and update your Friendster — you’ll be hearing a full night of nostalgia-laden cover tunes à la Daft Punk, MGMT, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Arctic Monkeys and more.

Bob Schneider’s Great Big Spectacular New Year’s Eve Party at the Paramount Theatre
Austin music scene veteran and former Ugly Americans frontman Bob Schneider will once again host his glittering NYE concert and party alongside Suzanna Choffel at the Paramount Theatre. The evening will include special guest Big Skinny. The Paramount says it will break out the chandeliers and disco balls, promising a sparkling end-of-year bash.

City of Austin’s New Year’s Eve Celebration at Auditorium Shores
The City of Austin has booked a stacked lineup of live music ahead of the fireworks show at Auditorium Shores on NYE. Spread out a blanket and grab food and drinks from on-site food trucks before the concert kicks off at 7 p.m. with the Point, Tameca Jones, Chaparelle and the Head and the Heart. A drone show is planned 20 minutes before fireworks light up the sky at midnight.

Resound Presents Drab Majesty New Year’s Eve at Mohawk
Ring in New Year’s Eve with Drab majesty, Urban Heat, Holy Wire and Night Ritualz at Mohawk. VIP tickets include a complimentary champagne toast, a limited-edition NYE poster and a goodie bag. Whiplash ATX DJ sets from AKAYA and Nephalem round out the night. Dress warm — this will be taking place on Mohawk’s outdoor stage.

NYE Party at the 13th Floor
Talk about a post-punk NYE showdown. The 13th Floor is hosting a night of music from local bands DAIISTAR, Christian Bland & the Revelators, Witches Exist and Permanent Shadows. Cake Burger Light Show will set the mood with retro video art projected across the Red River Street venue’s walls, and a champagne toast will go down at midnight.

Daikaiju vs. The Well at Valhalla
Daikaiju is a surf rock band from Alabama whose members maintain anonymity with Kabuki masks and a vow of silence. The Well brings Austin-based proto-metal, pushing doom rock to deeper levels. The two bands go head-to-head in this end-of-year showdown at Valhalla. The mosh pit is guaranteed to get wild, so hydrate with champagne at the end of the night.

New Year’s Eve at Antone’s Nightclub
KUTX hosts Next of Kin, Nané featuring Quentin Arispe, TC Superstar and KindKeith for its New Year’s Eve show at Antone’s Nightclub. If live music isn’t necessarily your vibe, Antone’s is also hosting a Gatsby & Glam Bollywood dance party upstairs at their venue on the same night.

Big, gaudy NYE celebrations not really your style? The fiesta features two stages with live bands and DJs spinning all night long, plus burgers from Bad Larry’s.
