Bad Bunny marks his return to Saturday Night Live, following his 2023 appearance as both host and musical guest. The “Volando” singer hit back at critics who are unhappy with him performing at the coveted Super Bowl halftime next year.
“You might not know this, but I’m doing the Super Bowl Halftime Show. And I’m very happy, and I think everybody’s happy about it. Even Fox News,” he replied with his trademark deadpan humor as the audience cheered for him loudly.
The video cuts to various instances of Fox News anchors talking about Bad Bunny, stitched together in a way that looks like they are endorsing Bunny to be the next President. The 31-year-old Puerto Rican singer added on a sentimental note that he is very happy to be headlining the Super Bowl halftime next year and thanked his fans who love his music and made this a possibility for him.
He spoke the next few words in Spanish to add to the emotionally charged speech. “Especially all of the Latinos and Latinas in the world here in the United States who have worked to open doors,” Bad Bunny spoke heartwarmingly in Spanish (translation via Page Six).
Furthermore, he acknowledged the Latin community’s contribution to American pop culture by saying, “It’s more than a win for myself, it’s a win for all of us. Our footprints and our contribution in this country — no one will ever be able to take that away or erase it.”
Finally, he joked that if fans did not understand this, they “have four months to learn” Spanish, causing a wave of laughter amongst fans.
The 2026 Super Bowl will be held at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, on February 8.
