Bea Miller Signs With Republic Records for New Music & More Signings

Singer-songwriter Bea Miller has signed with Republic Records, the label tells Billboard.

The first release under the deal is Miller’s new single, “Depressed on the Internet,” marking her first solo release since 2023. The track was developed alongside Miller’s longtime collaborator Justin Tranter and producers including Oak Felder, Shawn Wasabi and Dan Crean.

Miller first came to attention as a contestant on The X Factor in 2012 before going on to release singles including “Young Blood,” “Feel Something” and “Fire N Gold,” which hit No. 78 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2015. Her new music is described as “a more band-driven blend of pop, alternative and R&B” than her previous work.

“When Justin Tranter first played me Bea’s music, it was immediately clear there was something very special there,” Wendy Goldstein, chairwoman and chief creative officer at Republic Records, said in a statement. “Bea has a way of telling truths through her music that feels incredibly rare, and we’re really excited to be a part of her journey.”

“Throughout the process of writing my most recent body of work, I wanted to find the best possible partner to release it all with,” added Miller. “Luckily for me, I met Wendy Goldstein, who’s a f–king badass and has been championing my new music from the first day I played it for her. It can be rare as an artist to find a label that you love, made up of people you love, who truly believe in you. I know I have that with Wendy and with Republic, and I couldn’t be more excited about working together.”

Tranter added, “I’ve been lucky enough to write with Bea on and off for almost a decade. She has always been an artist with a magical set of vocal cords who is brutally honest, hysterical and deeply self aware. But the reason I decided to dive in even deeper with her in this next chapter is because she has blossomed into one of the best songwriters I’ve ever met.”

Eve is set to tour the U.K. and European Union starting in October to mark the 25th anniversary of her sophomore album, Scorpion. She also has festival dates upcoming at Love Saves the Day and Boomtown Fair.

Eve has scored a total of four top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100: “Let Me Blow Ya Mind” featuring Gwen Stefani; “Gangsta Lovin’” featuring Alicia Keys; Missy Elliott’s “Hot Boyz,” on which she was featured with Nas and Q-Tip; and Gwen Stefani’s “Rich Girl,” on which she was also featured. Canadian singer-songwriter TALK signed to Big Loud Rock, which on Friday (May 1) released “Time Machine,” his first new music in three years. TALK (born Nicholas Durocher) put out his debut album, Lord of the Flies & Birds & Bees, in 2023 via DOOGOOD/Range/Capitol Records. The album included “Run Away to Mars,” which hit No. 1 on Billboard‘s Adult Alternative Airplay chart the same year.

“We’re excited to welcome TALK into the Big Loud Rock family,” said Big Loud partner and Big Loud Rock president Joey Moi. “His powerhouse vocals and eccentric creative concepts really blew us away. He brings such a fresh, infectious energy to the alternative rock space that we couldn’t help but immerse ourselves in it.”

TALK added, “Big Loud Rock quickly emerged as the most exciting partner to work with on my second album. Their belief in pure artistry, drive, and heart above all else has renewed my belief in this unpredictable industry. I’m more than proud to call them my home.”

  • Lily Fitts (Mom+Pop Music)

Mom+Pop Music signed indie folk artist Lily Fitts, who’s slated to release an album later this year.

Thaddeus Rudd, co-owner of Mom+Pop Music, said, “Welcoming Lily to Mom+Pop is incredibly exciting, and we look forward to partnering with her to help write the next chapter of her career. She is a singular talent: a prolific songwriter, an inspiring live performer, and a brilliant mind all wrapped in one package.”

“I’m so excited to have found my place at Mom and Pop Music!” Fitts added. “I truly feel like I can express myself in my fullest capacity and be my most true and authentic self. They want the most honest version of my music, not a polished-down one. I’m asking deeper questions and expanding what I think my music can be, and having a label that’s genuinely curious about where I’m going makes all the difference.”

Fitts released her debut album, Getting By, in 2025. She’s currently touring the Northeast U.S. before embarking on a European tour in August.

  • Grace Carter & Kid Apollo (UnitedMasters)

UnitedMasters signed two new London-based artists: singer-songwriter Grace Carter and songwriter-producer trio Kid Apollo. Carter is set to release a new project via UnitedMasters this fall. Kid Apollo, known for alt-R&B and indie pop, released its debut single with UnitedMasters, “Kumbaya,” on April 8.

Concurrent with the announcement of the signings, UnitedMasters announced that Alessandro “Moz” Moro, senior A&R at the company, will oversee its U.K. division alongside vp of A&R Jesse Morave.

“We’re honoured to be working with both Grace Carter and Kid Apollo and feel they are perfect partners to reflect United Masters’ ethos of empowering independent artists in various chapters of their careers,” said Moro. “These acts represent the kind of world-class UK talent we want to build global stories with. Grace is already a proven voice in the market – a remarkable songwriter and artist with real depth, a history on the UK charts, and a fan connection that has only continued to grow. Meanwhile, Kid Apollo brings something different but equally exciting: a Gen-Z perspective with broad musical influences, strong early audience signals, and ambitious creative vision. What excites us most is that both artists have distinct identities, and in today’s saturated market that matters more than ever.”

Added Morav, “As we continue expanding UM’s global footprint, a strong UK presence is essential. The UK remains one of the most influential music ecosystems in the world — commercially, culturally, and as a launchpad for global careers. With Grace Carter and Kid Apollo, we’re investing in two artists who reflect both sides of that opportunity: proven excellence and emerging innovation. Our goal is to help translate their UK momentum into durable international careers.”

Scott Givens, MNRK’s senior vp of rock & metal, said, “We are excited to once again partner with Darkest Hour as they begin crafting their new album.” MNRK’s Director of A&R Kyle Frey adds, “We are ecstatic to deepen our relationship with Darkest Hour and continue representing such an influential band on the MNRK roster. Their legacy is built on boundary-pushing consistency and resilience, and after 30 years together, they continue to fan the flames of inspiration in this new era, poised to deliver a landmark career highlight album.”

PROJECT to the label,” said Jeff Stevenson, general manager at Frontiers Label Group. “From the moment we heard the new music created by Josh and Casandra, it was clear they continue to bring a unique vision and emotional depth that aligns perfectly with our mission here at Frontiers. We’re excited to partner with them and help bring their artistry to a larger global audience.”

Added Rand, “I’m pleased to announce that THE L.I.F.E. PROJECT will be joining the Frontiers family. It was important to me to be on a label that wanted to be cutting edge in the industry, but still have that mom and pop relationship with the artist.
