For Daniel Gomes, owner of DJ Dan Entertainment, music has never been just background noise. It’s a blend of creativity, technology and the energy that comes from bringing people together. What began as a simple family celebration has grown into a full‑service entertainment business that now helps shape weddings, corporate events, birthdays and celebrations across the region.

“I’ve always loved music and technology,” Gomes said. His journey started in 2019 when he bought basic equipment to play music at his brother’s and sister’s graduation party. That night changed everything. “After that night, I got my first official paid booking, and I remember being super nervous but also really excited at the same time.” The experience gave him confidence and confirmed that entertainment was something he wanted to pursue seriously.

About a year later, a key opportunity helped expand his business. Gomes contacted a retired DJ in Gustine about purchasing a photo booth. “I ended up buying it, and that’s when things really started to grow,” he said. Since then, DJ Dan Entertainment has evolved far beyond music. The company now offers multiple DJ setups, several photo booth options, movie screens, audio guestbooks and personalized add‑ons designed to make events stand out.

“I’ve expanded both my DJ and photo booth services, and I’ve added movie screens and audio guestbooks,” Gomes said. “Now I offer multiple photo booth options, different DJ setups and extra experiences that make events even more memorable. I truly love what I do, and it means a lot that I get to be part of people’s special moments.”

While he can adapt to nearly any type of event, Gomes said weddings and corporate gatherings are where he thrives. “I can make any event memorable, but I specialize in weddings and corporate events,” he said. Weddings hold special meaning because of their emotional impact and high energy. “Weddings are honestly some of the most fun because you get to be part of such a special day, and the energy is amazing once the dance floor opens up.”

He focuses on creating big moments while keeping the event flowing smoothly from start to finish. Whether it’s a relaxed birthday or a formal corporate gathering, Gomes tailors the experience to the crowd. “No matter the event, I pay attention to the crowd and adjust the music and energy to match the vibe so everyone has a great time.”

One moment that stands out for him was the first wedding he ever DJ’d. “It was a huge moment for me because it was such an important day for the couple, and they trusted me to be part of it,” he said. Seeing the dance floor full and families celebrating confirmed that this was the direction he wanted to pursue long term. “Seeing the dance floor full, the family smiling, and knowing I helped create those memories made me realize this is what I want to do long term. It gave me a lot of confidence and motivation to keep growing my business.”

A successful event, Gomes said, comes down to preparation and awareness. “Reading the crowd is one of the most important parts of being a DJ,” he said. He watches how guests respond to songs, the age groups present and the energy on the dance floor. “If I see the energy drop, I’ll switch genres or play songs I know people will recognize. It’s all about timing and keeping the momentum going.” Communication with clients is equally important. “I talk with my clients beforehand so I know their must‑play songs and the kind of vibe they want.”

When asked what advice he would give to people planning an event, Gomes emphasized planning early and choosing someone you trust. “My biggest advice is to book your entertainment early and choose someone you trust, because entertainment really sets the tone for the entire event,” he said, noting that his calendar fills quickly. “I’m already about 80 percent booked for 2026 and starting to book into 2027.” He added that many people underestimate the role of a DJ. “People often overlook how much the DJ does beyond just playing music. We help with the timeline, announcements and keeping everything flowing smoothly.”

At DJ Dan Entertainment, Gomes said personalization is the goal. “I focus on making every event personalized and tailored to each client so their night feels unique and unforgettable.” For him, it all comes back to helping people celebrate the moments that matter most and creating memories that last long after the music stops.

From a graduation party in 2019 to a growing entertainment business, Daniel Gomes continues to expand his services while staying grounded in the same excitement he felt at his first event. For DJ Dan Entertainment, every celebration is an opportunity to bring people together, fill the dance floor and turn a special day into an unforgettable experience.
