We were wondering what the state of the friendship between Taylor Swift and Blake Lively was. Now, Taylor’s wedding has made that pretty clear. They’re not close anymore. Otherwise, controversy or not, Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, would have been invited to the celebration of Swift’s marriage.
Now, Star is reporting that Blake Lively is trying not to be bitter about not being invited, but the snub has left her very sad. Lively and her husband were cheering on their 6-year-old daughter, Betty, at a horse show in Lake Placid, New York, as Swift and Kelce got ready to exchange vows at Madison Square Garden.

“Blake did her best to hold her head high through this and act as though it was just any other weekend but it’s been absolutely devastating for her because it’s forced her to accept that this chapter of her life really is over,” the insider said.
It had been speculated that the two had a falling out after Swift got dragged into the middle of Lively’s highly publicized legal fight with Justin Baldoni over what happened on the set of It Ends With Us.
But “there was all this talk that she might get an invite and of course she got her hopes up because she’d give anything to fix this, but obviously that didn’t happen,” the insider added. “Even if Taylor had invited her, it would have been so awkward because everyone in her world has turned their backs on Blake too.”
Celebrities like Selena Gomez, Gigi Hadid, Cara Delevigne, and Emma Stone were invited, all people Lively used to be close to.
“Seeing Gigi, Cara and all the people she used to be so close to celebrating together without her was a brutal reminder of how much has changed,” the source adding, explaining that Reynolds has been “doing everything he can” to keep Lively’s spirits up. “But it’s just very, very hard, especially because there’s this underlying fear that this is going to haunt her forever.”
Swift and Kelce “had so many A-list stars at her wedding, it’s hard not to feel like all of Hollywood is Team Taylor,” the insider said. “It really hammered it home for her just how much of an outsider [Blake] is now.”
All of this comes after the Daily Mail reported that Lively’s “fury” was such that there was probably no going back for their friendship. The source claimed that Lively was “sad and a little bit p—d. No, a lot p—d,” adding, “That friendship was over before but if there was hope, it’s gone. They’ll never be friends again.”
The source added that Lively “wanted to go” to Swift’s wedding. “It feels bad to be excluded like that,” they added. “She had sort of hoped that despite everything, their history was enough that they’d be included, but that’s not the way it went.”
Hollywood insider Rob Shuter previously reported that Blake even had a dress picked out for Swift’s wedding in case a last-minute invitation came. “Blake genuinely believes there’s still a path back,” the insider told Naughty But Nice. “Just like she had her Met Gala dress ready, she already has a dress picked out for Taylor’s wedding. That’s how convinced she was — and still is — that this friendship can be saved.”
