The first season of the revival showed Bobby in his 20s as a chef at Robata Chane in Dallas, as father Hank struggled to adjust to changes to the fictional Texas town of Arlen after returning from years in Saudi Arabia, where he worked a propane job.
The season featured the trademark humor of the turn-of-the-century original.
Bobby was seen at one point trying to teach his father about craft beer.
“Nowadays, beer is fruitier, bolder, more sturdy,” Bobby told Hank.
“I’ve been drinking beer for 40 years, and I never wished once that it tasted more like fruit,” Hank retorted.
Per Eater, Bobby learned his love for cooking in a homemaking class and bonded with Hank over grilled meat. The outlet reported that season 14 showed Bobby, who started Robata Chane with his former bully Chane Wassanasong, making German-Japanese dishes like yuzu sausages and herring tempura.
According to a synopsis shared with PEOPLE, the 15th season of the show will feature Hank and Peggy continuing to take in retired life on Rainey Street while trying to keep their neighbors in check.
Meanwhile, Bobby navigates the trials and tribulations of old friendships and being an entrepreneur, per the synopsis.

Disney+ listed Stephen Root returning to the show as Bill Dauterive, plus Lauren Tom voicing Minh and Connie Souphanousinphone and Toby Huss acting as Dale Gribble.
