Sean “Diddy” Combs’ 19-year-old twin daughters, Jessie and D’Lila Combs, are making rare comments about their relationship with their dad amid his ongoing prison sentence.
“People fail to realize that, like, just because he’s our dad … his press is his own press. Our press is our own press,” D’Lila told Entertainment Tonight in an interview published Thursday, July 16. “People fail to understand that we are also individuals, like it’s separate, so I don’t have any fear [in the public eye].”
Diddy, 56, shared Jessie and D’Lila, as well as their brothers Quincy, 35, and Christian, 28, with late ex Kim Porter, who died in November 2018. The disgraced music mogul also shares son Justin, 32, with Misa Hylton, daughter Chance, 19, with Sarah Chapman, and daughter Love, 3, with Dana Tran.
Diddy had his children by his side after his 2024 arrest for sex trafficking and racketeering. The rapper, who pleaded not guilty to the charges and denied every allegation, was found guilty on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution and acquitted on the remaining counts in July 2025. Diddy is currently serving a four-year prison sentence.
Amid their dad’s incarceration, Jessie and D’Lila have remained focused on their education and newfound careers in the fashion industry.
“We’ve never, like, allowed any of that to stop us,” Jessie told ET. “We have to keep going, and it’s, honestly, just made us push and work harder because we’re not going to stop.”
Both Jessie and her twin sister further stressed that they are doing “good” in the wake of Diddy’s scandal.
“We are very appreciative of our supporters that support us, our team, our family, our friends that have just always been there for us,” D’Lila stated, also shutting down the critics of their newly announced fashion label. “We wanted to have a clothing line for many, many, many years. Now is the time because we’re becoming adults. Now is the time because we’re 19 years old, we’re not in high school anymore, we’re becoming young women [and] we’re becoming our own individuals. So, yes, now is the perfect time.”
She continued, “If you’re focused at something, like, you won’t drift off. If you just stay focused and stay strong, you’re good.”
Jessie and D’Lila have also maintained a “great” relationship with their father.
“We definitely are very close and he gives the best advice. Like [with] clothing, he’s very very knowledgeable in that aspect,” Jessie said. “We ask him all the time like, ‘We need help on this [or] we need help on that.’ He’s always going to be there and he’s always going to tell us the right answers. He’s literally never wrong, like, everything that he has told us about this, it’s been so helpful.”
The twins have even remained in touch with Diddy amid his incarceration.
“He’s been very focused, you know, like being a better person for his family,” Jessie added. “He’s been very focused and he’s just always been there for us. … He’s a great dad.”
