Like all her fellow Swifties, Caitlin Clark is patiently waiting for 7 p.m. ET Wednesday night.
In a little more than three hours, Taylor Swift will make her debut on Travis and Jason Kelce’s “New Heights” podcast. It’s all part of a massive rollout this week, seemingly co-orchestrated by Swift and Travis, her boyfriend of two years.
In addition to Swift’s podcast appearance, the music megastar announced her upcoming 12th album, The Life of a Showgirl. Meanwhile, Travis Kelce is featured on this week’s cover of GQ.
Back to Clark though. The Indiana Fever star knows tonight’s episode is going to break streaming records, but Clark is also concerned it might break the internet itself.
“Are we sure YouTube isn’t going to crash tonight?” she tweeted Wednesday afternoon.
It’s a valid question.
Hopefully, YouTube is ready for what is about to hit them this evening.
Swift is already in high spirits
In a preview clip for this week’s “New Heights” episode, Swift, who is well-aware of the complaints many male football fans have had about her appearances during Kansas City Chiefs games, cracked a joke at their expense.
“As we all know, you guys have a lot of male sports fans that listen to your podcast. I think we all know that if there’s one thing that male sports fans want to see in their spaces and on their screens… it’s more of me,” she said.
Clark and Swift share a bond
Clark is an avowed Swiftie, and she attended one of the 14-time Grammy winner’s Eras Tour shows in Indianapolis last year.
Swift returned the favor by inviting Clark to a Chiefs home playoff game in January. The two sat together in Kelce’s family box, watching Kansas City beat the Houston Texans to advance to the AFC Championship Game.
During the game, some shots of the pair went viral, including one of Clark whispering something to Swift.
“Honestly, I love football and I know a lot about it, so I was explaining to her why they threw a flag,” Clark revealed about what she was saying, via Athlon Sports. “But in the best way… I was just breaking things down for her — it was really fun. I’m a big Chiefs fan. Getting to spend time with Taylor was amazing, and Travis played really well that game. The Chiefs won, it was the playoffs, and it was cold. That was fun.”
Swift has also promised to attend one of Clark’s WNBA games, though that may have to wait a while with the second-year guard missing time due to injury.
