Queen Camilla and Princess Anne are two of the most senior members of the Royal Family, but their approach to their official work can reportedly be very different. While they are among the eldest working royals, Anne and Camilla both continue to carry out a significant number of engagements every year.
However, while King Charles’s sister takes a very detail-oriented approach to engagements, including reading a lot of notes beforehand, Queen Camilla reportedly takes a different approach. Instead, it is believed Her Majesty would rather meet people and learn about them this way.
These differences in the two royal women’s tactics were revealed by royal aides.
As reported by GB news, Palace insiders have said that Anne, 75, studies the briefing papers she has been given intensely, making sure she is fully aware of all the facts she needs to know before setting out on a royal engagement.
It is believed that each week she is given a bag of briefing notes on the week ahead, which she then studies over the weekends at her Gatcombe Park home.
This was no different when the royal was on her recent overseas trip in Singapore and Australia, where she also reportedly spent evenings making sure she was prepped for the following day.
While it may therefore be assumed that Camilla does the same, a report by The Times suggests this is not the case.
Instead, it is believed the Queen “barely skim-reads her briefs” as she instead prefers to “find people how they are” and let royal engagements be more spontaneous.
Neither approach seems to be wrong or right, with both the Queen and the Princess Royal successfully carrying out a significant number of engagements each year.
This is especially true for Anne, who is often crowned the hardest-working royal.
