CANCER BATS have released a new music video!
The new music video, for Long Tooth, is taken from the Canadian hardcore punk band’s upcoming eighth studio album Give Me Dirt, which is scheduled to be released on August 7th, via Marshall Records. The track serves as the latest single from the record and features guest vocals from queer indie folk singer-songwriter BROOKLYN DORAN.
Speaking about the new track, vocalist Liam Cormier shares, “the chorus reflects a realisation I’ve been having lately. I’m at the halfway point of my life (and yes, I fully intend to make it to at least 92). Like many people, I’ve spent years trying to fix certain parts of myself. Lately, I’ve found myself wondering whether those things really need fixing at all. They’ve carried me this far and have helped shape who I am. At some point, self-improvement gives way to self-acceptance, and the chorus embraces the idea that maybe it’s okay to just carry on.”
Filmed by Mitch Barnes — who also directed the video for lead single Stay Stuck — the video channels the band’s playful, chaotic energy, combining vintage theatre-inspired set pieces with green-screen effects. Guest vocalist BROOKLYN DORAN appears in the video, alongside Ian Romano, who helped record the album and portrays the villain.
Cormier adds, “this video was a blast to make! From building the sets to making the costumes, we worked really hard to bring this whole vision to life! I couldn’t be happier with how it all turned out.”
