Cape Vincent, N.Y. – Creatively refurbished chairs decorated and donated by area residents will be up for auction on Saturday, August 30 from 12-5 pm at Cape Vincent Brewing Co., 126 S. James St., Cape Vincent. Proceeds from the silent “CHAIR-ity Auction” will be shared by the Cape Vincent Arts Council to support its free downtown music events and Cape Vincent’s Breakwater Gallery which features the work of talented Thousand Islands artists.
Winning bids will be announced at 5 pm. Bidders must be present to claim their winnings. Submit an Entry
Crafters, artisans, and creative individuals of all kinds are invited to donate chairs or tables that they’ve refinished, refurbished, reupholstered, or repainted. Creativity is encouraged. Those wishing to donate should send a photo of their finished piece to CVAC at 315-870-5463 or [email protected]. Donations must be dropped off at Cape Vincent Brewing by 11 am the day of the event. To arrange a drop-off before the day of the event, contact CVAC.
The Cape Vincent Arts Council (CVAC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization consisting entirely of volunteers. It is dedicated to providing opportunities for the public to enjoy and participate in cultural activities in and around Cape Vincent. Among the events it sponsors are its Downtown Music Events (Concerts on the Green, Riverside Music & Arts Festival, Stroll on Broadway), summer art classes, author presentations, art exhibitions, and the Thousand Islands International Piano Competition for Young People (Sept. 5-7, 2025).
