Chrishell Stause is laying a wedge between herself and “Selling Sunset.”

The reality TV star is not only walking out of the show’s cameras but is making moves to shut down and sever personal connections on her way out. While on the show, she often had disagreements with her fellow castmates over a wide range of topics.

After working with the cast and producers for nine seasons, Chrishell Stause called it quits with claims that filming for the franchise cost her some mental health battles.

Stause, after announcing she would not be returning to the “Selling Sunset” set, made a public social media move that drew attention.

The reality TV star filmed the show alongside Emma Hernan, Nicole Young, Bre Tiesi, Chelsea Lazkani, and many other stars. On the show, they often brawled and had several disputes.

Following the announcement of her exit, fans noted that Stause unfollowed all her former castmates on Instagram except Lazkani. This has caused raised eyebrows, but it is not far-fetched, as she clashed with most of them, especially during the last season.

Despite the numerous rifts, she noted that she has no ill will toward the show, and although she is not leaving the way she would have loved to, she is not bitter. Stause referred to being on the show as a ground for opportunities, and Page Six reports that she did not need the show to up her finances anymore.

The Netflix Star Also Had Challenges Filming

“Selling Sunset” premiered in 2019, and Stause was one of the OG cast members. After filming for over five years now, she revealed that the pressure of filming was taking a hard toll on her mental health. She was not in it for the money anymore, and she had to prioritise herself.

The TV star revealed that she had a hard time, specifically while filming the “Selling Sunset” reunion. As the tough times heightened, she often reminded herself to see it through, as she was not a quitter.

Another original cast member, Mary Bonnet, disclosed in an interview that the season was rocky and she had to keep her distance from Stause thereafter. She added that being on the show where there were no scarce dramatic and crazy moments, she also faced increasing anxiety.

The ‘Selling Sunset’ Alum Drifted From Her Friends And Co-stars

Before Stause’s shocking exit, Stause had a major falling out with some of her other co-stars and friends on the show. In her final days on the show, she got into a blowout with her former friend and co-star Emma Hernan because of her relationship with Blake Davis.

He posed a threat to their friendship after he allegedly made skewed remarks about non-binary people and the LGBTQ+ community. Stause took this personally as her partner, G-Flip, is non-binary.

As stated by The Blast, Stause was also not pleased with how her personality was portrayed on the show. She explained that she was shown as the overbearing friend with Hernan, and they left out scenes that would have changed the narrative.

A different co-star, Bre Tiesi, claims that Stause threatened to leave every season, while confirming that she was at odds with almost all the other cast members.

The Show’s Producers Are Already In Search Of Stause’s Replacement

The Blast reported that the producers of the reality TV show are already looking for a replacement for Stause’s spot. Their search apparently began even before she announced her exit from the show.

Producers are hoping to get a big-name celebrity to join next season. The focus of their search is on how renowned the celebrity is rather than their experience in real estate.

They would cast the person as long as they are willing to go for their real estate license on the show and are able to show a few homes.

Currently, no celebrity has shown interest, and this has been the same in the relatively recent castings. These low callbacks have made them resort to casting some celeb-adjacent realtors on the show.

The only cast member whom Stause did not unfollow seems to be her actual dear friend. In season 9 of the show, there was a controversial scene involving Bonnet and Lazkani. Bonnet had a dramatic reaction and refused to accept the flowers Lazkani sent her after she had a home invasion.

Stause called Bonnet out for her inappropriate reaction and, furthermore, came after the production team, including her ex, Jason Oppenheim. An old footage of Lazkani resurfaced, where she unfolds the struggles of being a black woman and being portrayed as a bully on the show.

Cosmopolitan reports that Stause sent a clear message out to the production team and directed some words at Oppenheim

She wrote, “This is heartbreaking and WHY you shouldn’t have an all white production company with an exec producer credit and editing power to Jason…” implying that he calls the shots on the show.
