Comedian uses humor to raise awareness about mental health

ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) – An award-winning comedian who brings his family-friendly comedy to cities across the country is set to perform Tuesday night in Roanoke.

Mickey Bell is also a mental health advocate who uses his platform to help others find laughter through their pain.

Bell will bring his “Celebrate Recovery” show to Raleigh Court United Methodist Church in Roanoke at 7 p.m. November 25.

He also has a new book, “You’re Not Alone This Holiday Season,” offering support for anyone who “feels overlooked, forgotten, or just plain tired of pretending everything’s okay.”
