Country icon Blake Shelton took to social media on Sept. 8 after the 2025 CMA Awards nominations were announced to celebrate with fans as two of his songs earned nominations.
“‘Pour Me A Drink’ with @postmalone has been nominated for @cma Musical Event of the Year!” began Shelton on Instagram. “Plus, congrats to the songwriters of ‘Texas’ which has been nominanted [sic] for Song Of The Year! Don’t miss the 59th #CMAawards Wed, Nov 19th! -Team BS.” Johnny Clawson, Josh Dorr, Lalo Guzman, and Kyle Sturrock are the songwriters behind Shelton’s song “Texas” who are nominated for the award.

Fans couldn’t hold back their excitement at the big announcement, with the comments quickly flooding with hearts, fire and hand clapping emojis in support, while more said, “Congrats and Good luck 👍,” and “Gorgeous Blake, Congratulations! 🍸.”
“Love me some Blake. Yay,” said another fan, as someone else proclaimed, “🙌🙌Yes well deserved 😍.”
Other fans cheered Shelton on, noting that they would vote for him if they could.
The CMA Awards Will Take Place on Nov. 19
The official 2025 CMA Awards will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 19, when the country music industry gathers together to announce the winners in all the categories and celebrate the accomplishments.
Along with Shelton’s nominations, quite a few big names in country music nabbed multiple nominations. Lainey Wilson, Ella Langley and Megan Moroney all topped the list with six nominations each, while other recognizable stars who earned nominations include Luke Combs, Chris Stapleton, Morgan Wallen, and Miranda Lambert.
No news about performers or presenters has been shared yet. Last year, Wilson, Peyton Manning and Luke Bryanhosted the big event, with the latter two hosting the two years prior as well. The award ceremony takes place in Nashville, Tenn., and it airs on ABC.
