Country music legend George Strait is marking a huge milestone for his greatest hits album Strait Out of the Box, and to celebrate, he has announced a specially curated collection coming to streaming that fans can vote on.
Strait Out of the Box was released on September 12, 1995, and to commemorate its 30th anniversary, Strait announced on Monday, September 8, that fans can vote for their favorite tracks from each disc all week. The “five top-voted songs will make up a new collection, Strait Out of the Box: Fan Favorites, which will be available to stream on Friday, September 26, 2025.”

To vote, fans can either cast their votes in Strait’s Instagram stories or they can join his Honky Tonk Hangout Facebook group “to vote for their favorite tracks.”
The disc 1 voting is on September 8, disc 2 is on September 9, disc 3 is on September 10, disc 4 is on September 11, and the wild card round is on Friday, September 12, the anniversary of when Strait Out of the Box was released 30 years ago.

Each vote is making all the tracks available from each disc, so on Monday, September 8, all 18 tracks from disc 1 are up for the fan votes. Stay tuned for how the wild card round will work, because Strait doesn’t specify which songs will be included in the wild card voting.
Based on the fan comments on Instagram and Facebook so far, “Amarillo By Morning” seems to be the most popular choice from disc 1, which makes sense — it is Strait’s second biggest hit sales-wise, certified 4x Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), second only to “Check Yes or No,” which hit 4x Platinum about six months before “Amarillo By Morning” did.
Fans are super excited, with one writing on Instagram, “‘Amarillo By Morning’ and ‘Fire I Can’t Put Out ❤️ love you George I love all of your songs and I love you too George always ❤️🔥.”
