Country Singer Zach Bryan Unleashes Fiery Lyrics Against ICE, Law Enforcement, And America In New Song

Chicago ICE Operations: 'OPERATION MIDWAY BLITZ'

Rising country singer Zach Bryan is seemingly lamenting the current state of America while condemning Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in a sneak peek of his new song, “Bad News.” The songwriter, whose name has been plastered in the headlines lately over his feud with country singer Gavin Adcock, his messy breakup with a social media influencer, and his 2023 arrest, is now causing even more controversy with pointed lyrics about politics in the United States. The snippet Bryan shared online came a few days after Chicago natives slammed ICE for its “military-style” raid at an apartment building.

Zach Bryan Takes A Bold Shot At ICE With Lyrics In His New Song

Bryan shared the snippet of the song on his Instagram and captioned the post, “the fading of the red, white, and blue.” So far, the clip has garnered over 90,000 likes.

His message through the song couldn’t be any clearer, with pointed lyrics that target law enforcement, including ICE.

“My friends are all degenerates, but they’re all I got, the generational story of dropping the plot. I heard the cops came, Cocky motherf-ckers, ain’t they?” he sang over the beat.

The 29-year-old Oklahoma native continued, “And ICE is gonna come bust down your door, try to build a house no one builds no more, but I got a telephone, Kids are all scared and all alone.”

He went even further, adding, “The bar stopped bumping, the rock stopped rolling, the middle fingers rising, and it won’t stop showing. Got some bad news. The fading of the red, white, and blue.”

Zach Bryan Causes A Stir Online With New Lyrics

Bryan disabled the comments on his Instagram post, likely fearing pushback. However, his post has garnered attention on X, formerly Twitter, sparking criticism from some right-leaning individuals.

For example, country singer John Rich replied to Bryan’s song and wrote, “Who’s ready for the Zach Bryan-Dixie Chicks tour?” He continued, “Prob a huge Bud Light sponsorship for this one,” referencing Bud Light’s own controversy after collaborating with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney.

Rich also shared another post claiming “Nashville is full of guys [like Bryan].”

Another user chimed in and accused Bryan of “betraying his Oklahoma roots” by “spitting in the face of his country music base with this anti-ICE nonsense.”

They added, “The only thing fading is his career. Maybe he can go perform for the amigos.”

Bryan’s song condemning ICE and police officers came around the same time news broke that federal agents in Chicago initiated an aggressive raid on a five-story building in the city’s South Shore neighborhood, according to celebrity.land.

The agents, who also came with military-sized vehicles, were part of a multiagency operation that led to the arrest of “37 undocumented immigrants” from Venezuela, Mexico, Nigeria, and Colombia.

The raid is part of the Department of Homeland Security’s “Operation Midway Blitz,” which has seen more than 800 undocumented immigrants arrested in Chicago since September 8, 2025.

Darrell Ballard, a resident of the building next door, called the raid “an invasion” before mentioning the Black Hawk helicopter that flew over the building’s parking lot in the early hours of the day of the raid.

Pertissue Fisher, a resident of the raided building, recalled having a gun in her face and called the situation “scary.”

“They asked my name and my date of birth and asked me, did I have any warrants? And I told them, ‘No, I didn’t,'” Fisher continued.

Despite her status, Fisher revealed she was handcuffed anyway and later released at 3 AM.

Zach Bryan In More Drama Of His Own

Weeks before making even more noise with the sneak peek of his song, Bryan caused waves among country music fans when a clip of him scaling a barbed wire fence to try to fight his industry peer, Adcock, was shared online.

“Hey, do you want to fight like a man? Come open the gate,” Bryan said to Adcock before shaking the fence. In another clip, Bryan could be seen being held back by his entourage after coming within feet of the “Deep End” singer.

Their beef started in the summer of 2025 when Adcock slammed Bryan for allegedly refusing to take a picture with fans outside one of his shows. In another statement, reported by The Blast, Adcock accused Bryan of being a fraud before saying he might not be “that great of a person.”

Bryan Was Arrested In 2023

In September 2023, Bryan was once again the subject of controversy after reports of his arrest in Oklahoma surfaced.

According to ABC News, the singer was arrested after refusing to comply with an officer’s instruction to return to his vehicle. “I’ll go to jail, let’s do it,” Bryan was heard saying in the body camera footage.

At another point, Bryan told the officer that arresting him is why “people do not like” cops.

“This is the second time this has happened in three days. These f-cking cops are out of control,” he added.

Bryan was charged with obstruction of a law enforcement officer.
