NEED TO KNOW

  • Olivia Holt will replace Isa Briones as Connie Francis in Broadway’s Just in Time starting May 30

Olivia Holt is headed back to Broadway.

The singer-songwriter and actress will take over the role of Connie Francis in Just in Time beginning on May 30 at Circle in the Square Theatre, replacing The Pitt star Isa Briones, who will play her final performance on May 29.

Holt, like Briones, is no stranger to the stage. She previously made her Broadway debut in 2023 as Roxie Hart in Chicago.

On screen, Holt is known for her roles in Netflix’s Jingle Bell Heist, Sony’s Heart Eyes and Prime Video’s Totally Killer. She first rose to fame on Disney Channel’s Kickin’ It before later appearing in Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger and Freeform/Hulu’s Cruel Summer.

Just in Time traces Darin’s rise from teen idol to global sensation through hits including “Beyond the Sea,” “Splish Splash,” “Dream Lover” and “Mack the Knife.”

Developed and directed by Alex Timbers with a book by Warren Leight and Isaac Oliver, the musical — based on an original concept by Ted Chapin — has been one of the hottest tickets on Broadway since it debuted on March 31, 2025. It was nominated for six 2025 Tony Awards, including one for Jonathan Groff’s performance as Darin.

Jeremy Jordan currently stars as Darin, alongside a cast that includes Carrie St. Louis, Debbie Gravitte, Joe Barbara, Emily Bergl, Lance Roberts, Caesar Samayoa, Claire Camp, Julia Grondin, Jessica Mallare White, Tari Kelly, Matt Magnusson, Jeffrey Schecter, Tristen Buettel, Gabi Carrubba and Khori Michelle Petinaud.

Briones joined the cast of Just in Time on April 1.

The actress, who previously has appeared on Broadway in Hadestown, has made headlines during her run — both for her singing voice and for how she’s used that voice to call out rude theatergoers.

Over the weekend, Briones criticized audience members for shouting references to her The Pitt character, Dr. Trinity Santos, during performances of the musical. In a post shared to Instagram Stories, the actress called the behavior “f—ing disrespectful” and reminded fans that “Broadway is not a circus.”

“Do not yell whatever you want at the performers,” she wrote, referencing one specific moment in which a fan made a specific reference to her on-screen character’s season 2 storyline. “Yelling ‘When are you going to finish your charts’ before I sing ‘Who’s Sorry Now?’ is f—ing disrespectful to the performers onstage and your fellow audience members. Y’all are pissin’ me off.”

“Please remember you are occupying shared spaces and watching art,” she said.

This is not the first time Briones has expressed her frustration with Broadway audiences. She addressed similar audience behavior in a post to her Instagram Story on April 11, when she asked audiences not to call her by her TV character’s name during performances.

“Do not talk to the performers while they are performing on stage (unless you have been asked to),” she wrote at the time. “And don’t talk to me on stage and call me Dr. Santos. I’m not Dr. Santos. I’m not even Connie Francis. I am Isa Briones, one of the actors in the show you have paid to enjoy. So watch it respectfully.”

Tickets for Just in Time are currently on sale through Sept. 6, 2026.
