As the March debut of Norwegian Cruise Line’s new ship, Norwegian Luna, nears, the cruise line’s creative studios in Tampa, Florida are abuzz with activity. The studios support more than 130 active shows across the company’s three cruise lines, and right now, they’re simultaneously rehearsing, building costumes, and gearing up for the premiere of an all-new entertainment lineup on Norwegian Luna.
Although Norwegian Luna is a near copy of her sister ship, Norwegian Aqua, which launched in spring 2025, Luna represents the next evolution of Norwegian Cruise Line’s original entertainment. Bespoke productions set the cruise line apart, and Norwegian Luna’s shows will take Norwegian’s entertainment to places it’s never been before with magnetic shows and interactive experiences that will appeal to a wider range of audiences than ever before.
Come Cruise With Me recently got to go behind the scenes at the Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings (NCLH) Creative Studios for a first look at the shows that will make vacations more electric and imaginative on board Norwegian Luna.

Norwegian Luna’s entertainment will have multigenerational appeal
Beyond the uniqueness of the productions, what stands out most about Norwegian Luna’s entertainment is its variety. Truly designed for multigenerational families, the lineup includes new entertainment experiences aimed at younger audiences in addition to the cruise line’s signature style of high-energy music tribute shows that older cruisers want more of.
“Our guests told us they want shows and experiences that have easy-to-follow narratives, recognizable music, and big visual spectacle. One of the other things they told us was, ‘we want more variety,’ and not just variety in the theater — variety on the pool deck, variety in the clubs, variety in the atrium,” said NCLH Vice President of Entertainment Production Bryan White.

Families with tweens and teens are sure to be mesmerized by “HIKO: Innovation Meets Wonder,” a futuristic production featuring acrobatics performed by four elite gymnasts, cutting-edge 3D mapping, multi-sensory video projection, and a fully original score.
“We really want to create shows and experiences that the entire family can experience together, as well as segmented entertainment experiences that are for specific age groups. So, for example, we’re going to have our lead character from HIKO — there’s going to be a meet and greet with that character just for the kids where they’re going to get to meet HIKO up close and personal,” said White.
For families with younger kids, Norwegian Luna will also debut a whimsical new interactive festival experience, “Sea of Discovery! An Under-the-Sea Festival,” featuring glow games inspired by nostalgic field day activities.

Norwegian goes bolder with shows for adults
While unique, family-focused entertainment adds a new dimension to Norwegian cruise entertainment, the cruise line is continuing to level up its shows and parties for adults, too.
Grounded in guest feedback, the new entertainment lineup on Norwegian Luna will build upon the success of Norwegian’s original, concert-style tribute shows that loyal passengers love. In addition to a new classic rock tribute show celebrating the music of The Eagles, Norwegian Luna will immerse passengers in the music and spirit of superstar musician Elton John with its headline entertainment.

“We spend a lot of time, again, listening to our guests and some of the questions we ask our guests are: what are the music genres that you want to hear and who are the artists that you want to hear? Who do you want to have featured? And list after list after list, Sir Elton’s name appears,” said White.
Created in house at the NCLH Creative Studios in partnership with Elton John’s Rocket Entertainment Group, “ELTON: A Celebration of Elton John” will bring to life the songs, stories, stylings, and electricity of the iconic entertainer in a glittering production that can only be seen on Norwegian Luna.

Adults can also look forward to letting loose on board Norwegian Luna at “LunaTique,” a bold new pop circus party experience exclusively for passengers 21 and older, which features edgy, intricate costumes and Las Vegas-style energy.
“The through line of [the entertainment lineup] is that we want interactive and immersive entertainment. Whether that is what we’re doing up on the pool deck, whether that is what we’re doing in the atrium, character pop-ups, our new family ‘Sea of Discovery’ program…we really want that easy, multigenerational, and interactive entertainment,” said White.
