Charli D’Amelio returned to the “Dancing with the Stars” ballroom on Tuesday night for “TikTok Night.”
The Norwalk native rose to fame through TikTok in 2019, and she currently has 156.3 million followers on the social media platform. She starred on season 31 of “Dancing with the Stars” and won the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy with her partner, Mark Ballas, in 2022.
D’Amelio performed with Ballas again during Tuesday’s episode. The duo performed the TikTok-viral “samba whisk” to “Assumptions” by Sam Gellaitry.
“TikTok has changed my life and the lives of so many people. The amazing part about TikTok is that you can be normal one day, and the next day you’re competing on ‘Dancing with the Stars.’ That’s the reality,” D’Amelio said during the episode. “It’s happened to so many people and I can’t wait for it to happen to so many more.”
Ballas also said that it was “so great” to have D’Amelio appear during Tuesday’s episode and that it “makes so much sense” for her to be a guest during the TikTok-themed episode.
“That’s my little sis. Obviously love dancing with her and miss dancing with her, but great to have her here,” Ballas told E! News. “It was nice to hit the floor together.”
In addition to dancing with her former partner, D’Amelio also performed to TikTok hits like “Apple” by Charli XCX and “Savage” by Megan Thee Stallion during the episode.
The TikTok star has a background in competitive dance. After joining TikTok, D’Amelio said during season 31 of “Dancing with the Stars” that she had lost her excitement for performing and had stopped dancing due to hateful comments on social media. Following her win with Ballas, D’Amelio said she rediscovered her love of dancing and planned to continue dancing after her time on “Dancing with the Stars.”
D’Amelio went on to perform in Broadway musical “& Juliet” in 2024. The 21-year-old ended her run in the Broadway musical on Sept. 9.
