Darius Rucker is off the market.
Just more than a month after going social media official with Emily Deahl, the country music star shard the news with a joint Instagram post to both of their accounts that featured Rucker down on his knee asking for her hand in marriage.
“Thank you for showing me a level of happiness I have never known,” Rucker wrote. “The day I met you I knew I didn’t want to go another one without you. Now I don’t have to.”
Deahl explained to her Instagram followers why she has not shared much about Rucker there.
“I never intended on keeping this part of my life from you guys for so long, but somewhere along the way of loving him I discovered how sacred love is to me,” she wrote. “And all I wanted to do was protect it.
“But damn I’m glad I don’t have to spend the time photoshopping him out of every photo now.”
Rucker was previously married to Beth Leonard from 2000 to 2020.
Rucker is a native of South Carolina, and Taste of Country said that Deahl is also a South Carolina native who “identifies as a singer, songwriter and content creator.”
Rucker is 59 and Deahl is 33, and while most fans supported him when he first went Instagram official with her last month, a few took shots at the age difference.
“Happiness looks good on ya!” Justin Wheelon wrote.
“Beautiful,” another wrote. “’I only wanna be with you’ rings true here.”
And then there were the haters.
“Really???” one person replied. “Looks a little young for you.”
“Is that his daughter?” another wondered. “Where are the boys?”
