TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — DEK of Hearts, led by local singer Emily Clapp, is moving on to another round of The Voice.
Monday night, the group performed in the Knockout round of the contest against country singer Kayleigh Clark.
During the performance, DEK of Hearts sang “What if I Never Get Over You,” by Lady A, while Clark yodeled away “Blue” by LeAnn Rimes.
Former One Direction member and coach of DEK of Hearts, Niall Horan, chose the trio to move on to the next round. Horan also used his “Mic Drop” button during their performance, putting them in the running to sing at the Rose Parade.
Lead singer of the group, Emily Clapp, is a Terre Haute native and a graduate of North Vigo High School. Other members of the group include Dylan John and Kollin Bailey.
The Voice’s next episode will air on November 17, on WTWO.
