BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – WAFB and Gray Media announced Friday that DIRECTV has reached an agreement to carry the Gulf Coast Sports & Entertainment Network (GCSEN), bringing New Orleans Pelicans games to thousands of new households across the Gulf Coast.
The deal means DIRECTV, DIRECTV Stream, and U-Verse subscribers in 14 television markets where GCSEN is available will have access to Pelicans games not airing on national networks

DIRECTV is targeting a Fall 2025 launch for the channel.
“DIRECTV’s addition of the Gulf Coast Sports & Entertainment Network is a major step forward in bringing Pelicans basketball to fans across our region,” said Greg Bensel, Senior Vice President of Communications, Broadcasting, Community, and Government Relations for the Saints and Pelicans. “This partnership gives us the potential to reach millions of new viewers. As GCSEN continues to grow, we’re listening to our fans and working to ensure everyone has the opportunity to watch Pelicans broadcasts.”

The Pelicans open the regular season on Wednesday, Oct. 22, in Memphis against the Grizzlies. GCSEN will broadcast the pregame show at 6:30 p.m. followed by tipoff at 7 p.m.
