Donald Trump is known for making outrageous comments, with the president shocking viewers when he appeared on The View in 2006 alongside his daughter Ivanka Trump.
The pair joined forces to promote Season 3 of The Apprentice, in which Trump’s children featured on the show for the first time. Talk soon turned away from the program, as the president was asked how he would react if Ivanka, who previously worked as a model, posed for Playboy.
“It would be really disappointing — not really — but it would depend on what’s inside the magazine,” Trump replied.
He continued, “I don’t think Ivanka would do that, although she does have a very nice figure. I’ve said if Ivanka weren’t my daughter, perhaps I’d be dating her.”
Realizing his comments overstepped the line, Trump tried to backtrack. “Isn’t that terrible? How terrible? Is that terrible?” he asked.
Despite Trump’s comments shocking viewers, it wasn’t the last time he made disturbing comments about being in a relationship with Ivanka.
In a September 2015 issue of Rolling Stone, a journalist wrote, “After I met Ivanka and praised her to her father, he said, ‘Yeah, she’s really something, and what a beauty, that one. If I weren’t happily married and, ya know, her father . . .'”
Ivanka, who the president shares with his late ex-wife Ivana Trump, isn’t the only daughter the president has made odd comments about.
Trump made a disturbing gesture about his daughter Tiffany Trump, who he shares with his ex-wife Marla Maples, when Tiffany was just a one-year-old baby.
During an interview on former TV show Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous in 1994, Trump was asked by host Robin Leach what traits his daughter shared with him and which ones she shared with her mom.
“She’s a very beautiful baby She’s got Marla’s legs,” the president replied.
He then cupped his hands towards his chest, in what appeared to be gesture that refers to breasts, and said, “We don’t know whether or not she’s got this part yet, but time will tell.”
Marla, who appeared alongside her then-husband simply laughed at his comments.
In 2016, then The Daily Show aired a clip of the interview, as host Trvor Noah said, “We know for sure that there’s no female too small for Trump to reduce her to her body parts. We know this.”
One person wrote on X after Noah shared the video, “This is NOT normal. Every American needs to see this.”
A second wrote, “He made a creepy joke about his baby daughter’s body on national TV. The room went cold. And somehow this man still ends up in power. America, we need a mirror.”
Another added, “This isn’t locker room talk. It’s a glimpse into who he’s always been.”
