Divorced Couple Makes Hilarious Entrance At Daughter’s Wedding

A divorced couple in Pennsylvania made a wedding reception entrance to a Taylor Swift song that will probably amuse the singer ― but she probably won’t adopt it for her own upcoming wedding to Travis Kelce.

When Tanner Eberle married Sydney Hazer in Valencia on May 23, Sydney’s parents chose to enter the reception together despite being divorced.

The song the now-remarried Stacy Jump suggested to ex-husband Randall Hazer was appropriate, if dark: Swift’s 2012 smash, “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.”

Calling it “one of the most memorable moments of the night,” it seems the bride was totally happy with it.

“Most of our friends and family already knew my parents were divorced, so they immediately understood the joke,” the new bride told People. “Even the guests who didn’t know seemed to catch on pretty quickly once the song started playing.”

Jump said the cheeky song choice “was fun,” but thinks “it’s sad that there are so many divorced couples out there who can’t get along for their kids’ sake, even in moments such as a wedding.”

The entrance went viral after wedding photographer Michaela Ingmire posted the clip on her Instagram, calling it, “Honestly one of the funniest entrances,” and adding, “Everyone loved it.”

“We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,” like others on the “RED” album, is reportedly inspired by her 2010 relationship with actor Jake Gyllenhaal. However, Harry Styles, Connor Kennedy, Joe Jonas and John Mayer were also possible muses.

Back in 2013, Swift told New York magazine that Gyllenhaal had reached out after listening to the album.

“He was like, ‘I just listened to the album, and that was a really bittersweet experience for me. It was like going through a photo album.’ That was nice. Nicer than, like, the ranting, crazy e-mails I got from this one dude.”

“It’s a lot more mature way of looking at a love that was wonderful until it was terrible, and both people got hurt from it ― but one of those people happened to be a songwriter.”
