‘Downton Abbey’ Star Michelle Dockery Expecting First Child With Husband Jasper Waller-Bridge

Michelle Dockery was celebrating more that the premiere of the third Downton Abbey movie, Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale, on Sept. 3 in London. Dressed in a powder-blue gown with a sheer cape, the 43-year-old arrived with her husband of two years, Jasper Waller-Bridge, 37, showing off a baby bump! Like her aristocratic alter-ego, Lady Mary Crawley, who lost her first husband in the historical drama’s original TV series, Michelle has suffered tragedy in her love life.

In 2015, her partner, Irish publicist John Dineen, died from a rare form of cancer. “I refer to myself as a widow, yes,” she said two years later in an interview with The Guardian. “We were engaged, and married at heart, and so I do consider myself a widow.”

She met Jasper — whose sister is Fleabag star Phoebe Waller-Bridge — in 2019, and the pair wed at St. Nicholas’ church in Chiswick, West London, in 2023, per People. (Downton costars Lily James and Laura Carmichael were on the guest list.) In very un–Lady Mary fashion, before the wedding, guests celebrated at a local pub.
