It has been a rough year for the “Duck Dynasty” crew and their fans with the death of Phil Robertson and the health struggles of his wife, Kay, and now another beloved member of the family is in the hospital.
Uncle Si Robertson, Phil’s younger brother, has been battling a health issue himself.
Justin Martin, a Duck Commander employee and co-host of the “Duck Call Room” podcast, shared the news on Instagram on Wednesday.
“Before any rumors get started, yes Uncle Si is in the hospital,” Martin wrote. “He’s doing very well but was having a little trouble whooping a severe sinus infection. He’s very much on the mend and will be discharged soon. It’s awesome to be surrounded by guys who practice what they preach.”
Martin promised that the full story would be shared on the podcast soon.
Taste of Country noted that Robertson, 77, has shared his struggles with COPD after smoking for 40 years. His issues have been so severe that he underwent surgery to have valves inserted into one his lungs to help it work better.
Taste of Country said he has been spotted with an oxygen tube since. Also, the site noted, this isn’t the first scare that Robertson has given fans this year. Back in January he fell out of a boat during a hunting trip and was hospitalized for three days.
