Ella Langley Competes With Harry Styles on Billboard Hot 100
Langley, 26, shared a picture of the Billboard Hot 100 on her Instagram Story on February 5. “Aperture” by Harry Styles is number one with “Choosin’ Texas” under it. “Y’all have put me in a position to do something only a few females in country music have ever done,” she wrote in the next slide. “I’m being told we’re neck and neck on getting the #1 and if we have one last push on iTunes we might make country music history,” she added to her story. “Less than 10 women in country music have gotten a number one on Billboard. I know we can do it,” she encouraged.
The Alabama-born singer posted a picture of herself hugging Miranda Lambert. Lambert co-wrote the song and executive-produced the album. Langley will be headlining her first arena tour this year. “The Dandelion Tour” starts in Toledo, Ohio’s Huntington Center on May 7. Langley told Pollstar the advice Peachtree Entertainment Partner Bradley Jordan gave her to reach the arena status.
“Bradley has always said if you want to play stadiums, you have to play Texas,” she said. Langley also explained why she works so well with Lambert. “She loves a lot of different kinds of music, like I do, and she’s been through so many of the things I’m going through,” she explained. “I’m not afraid to be honest, and she believes in that.” Styles, 32, is tough competition and would be impressive if Langley dethrones him.
