Riley Keough and Ben Smith-Petersen have discreetly grown their family. A representative has confirmed that the couple recently welcomed their second child, though no information about the baby’s name or gender has been revealed.
Keough, 36, and Smith-Petersen, 34, initially met on the set of Mad Max: Fury Road in 2012. They started dating the next year during reshoots in Australia, later becoming engaged in 2014 and tying the knot in Napa Valley in 2015.
Their first child, a daughter named Tupelo, was born via surrogate in August 2022 but stayed under wraps until Smith-Petersen alluded to her presence while delivering a letter from Keough at Lisa Marie Presley’s funeral in January 2023.
“Thank you for showing me that love is the only thing that matters in this life. I hope I can love my daughter the way you loved me, the way you loved my brother and my sisters,” Smith-Petersen read on behalf of his wife.
“Thank you for giving me strength, my heart, my empathy, my courage, my sense of humor, my manners, my temper, my wildness, my tenacity. I’m a product of your heart.”
The Daisy Jones and The Six star, daughter of the late Lisa Marie Presley and musician Danny Keough, said it wasn’t a question of knowing every detail of what lay ahead, but rather an unwavering certainty about their bond.
“I just knew. We didn’t even say ‘I love you’ yet,” she added, describing the extraordinary understanding between them that required no words.
The actress and singer explained that while she couldn’t foresee the challenges and surprises that awaited, she trusted her gut feelings about Ben completely.
In August 2023, Riley disclosed her daughter’s name, honoring her late grandfather and brother through the names she selected for the now three-year-old.

It was revealed to the outlet that Tupelo’s middle name honors Riley’s late brother Benjamin Storm Keough. The late musician, who was her younger brother, tragically passed away in 2020 at the age of 27.
Benjamin died by suicide.
Riley also discussed with the outlet about her daughter being born via surrogate. During the recent interview, she said about surrogacy: “I think it’s a very cool, selfless, and incredible act that these women do to help other people.”
