Thanksgiving dinner prices fall in 2025, Wells Fargo finds
Thanksgiving meal prices ease slightly in 2025, with major retailers offering lower-cost options.
A Nashville family takes on an opposing team and the surveyed opinions of hundreds of Americans on a new episode of Steve Harvey’s “Family Feud,” airing at 5:30 p.m. CT on Wednesday, Nov. 19.
This isn’t their first gameshow either.
Doug Michael made his competitive debut on “Wheel of Fortune” in 2022 after applying on a whim with a 60-second video that his daughter Andrea Giordano filmed. Michael didn’t win, but he did place second.
“My dad is a big character,” Giordano said. “The second he came home, he said, ‘That was the most fun. I had the best time, and we need to all do ‘Family Feud’ next.'”
Giordano took it upon herself to plan, film and edit the audition video full of mostly joking outtakes. Some Tennesseans may recognize her as the woman behind BNA Cheap Flights, a popular Instagram account and subscriber newsletter for the best deals out of Nashville International Airport.
Her eye for entertainment came in handy, and within a few weeks, the family was on a video call with the producers.
“We brought so much energy,” Giordano said. “The key, I think, to getting on these shows is you don’t take yourself too seriously. You don’t stare at the camera and tell them who you are. You show who you are.”
What’s it like to compete on ‘Family Feud’?
The Michael family’s living room tape and Zoom audition were successful, but that didn’t mean filming was imminent. Producers informed them that they would be entered into a queue of families waiting to film their episode.
About a year after the call, the Michael family was scheduled to fly down to Atlanta and compete on the show. They filmed in March 2025, and eight months later, the episode will air.
In all, the process took a year and a half.
Giordano’s youngest brother Josh Michael served as their team captain.
“Steve Harvey really liked him,” Giordano said.
Michael said the feeling was mutual and had something to do with the velvet green suit jacket he chose to wear on the day of filming.
“He gave me a little bit of a nice, but hard time about it throughout the show,” Michael said. “My family is, by nature, a little quirky, goofy and fun-loving. ‘Family Feud’ was just the perfect fit for our family.”
How to watch this Nashville family on ‘Family Feud’
The Michael family is planning to watch the new episode all together with friends at a watch party. If you want to join them watching the episode live, it will air on Nov. 19 at 5:30 p.m. on MyTv 30 WUXP, owned by Sinclair Broadcast Group.
It is also available on live TV streamers, like DirectTV Stream or Hulu Live.
