Sarah Ferguson has been branded “toxic” as a brand by royal experts who claimed the former Duchess will have a hard time making a comeback after the latest Jeffrey Epstein scandal. Ms Ferguson, who lost her Duchess of York title and will soon move out of her home since 2008, Royal Lodge, was humiliated after new details of her links to the convicted paedophile emerged in the last couple of months.
Fergie’s ex-husband, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, lost his titles and honours, as well as his home, where he lives with her, after King Charles’s dramatic decision following years of bombshell revelations about his association with Epstein. This resulted in Fergie having no home, titles or even a job, after her charities severed ties with her following the furore, with her latest children’s book even being shelved amid the scandal. Now, royal commentators said Ms Ferguson’s career future is in doubt, as there is little that she can do to avert the crisis.
Royal commentator Hilary Fordwich told Fox News: “This is yet another indication that she is now considered a toxic brand.
“Charities have dropped her, and friends are distancing themselves. She has a bleak future in England.”
Meanwhile, royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams had a similar opinion: “The axing of her children’s book shows she has no future as a children’s author.
“It is highly unlikely she’ll find a way back from this.”
It comes as reports claimed the ex-Duchess is considering a potential tell-all TV interview.
Fergie has reportedly been offered “six-figure sums” by TV channels to tell her own side of the story since losing her royal title.
The “significant” bids come from American TV channels, as well as networks in the UK and the Gulf states, according to the Sun.
A source told the outlet: “Andrew has had his chances to tell his story. Now it’s Fergie’s time.”
