Netflix has a vast library of westerns for fans to enjoy, but one 80s classic has been hailed as the ‘best Western ever’.

Fan of Westerns are urged to watch an 80s classic praised as the finest of its genre.
Streaming platform Netflix currently includes a star-studded film as part of its vast collection of Westerns, such as Let Him Go and The Harder They Fall.
Notable personalities including John Cleese, Jeff Goldblum and Linda Hunt all feature as part of the A-list supporting ensemble.
Greeted with favourable critical reception upon its initial release, the picture received nominations for Best Sound and Best Original Score at the 58th Academy Awards.
Silverado is an action-filled Western about four drifters who join forces and journey to the eponymous town, only to discover it under the control of a corrupt sheriff.
United, the unlikely cowboys band together to combat the corruption, safeguard those they care about and restore justice to the town.

Kevin Kline, Scott Glenn, Danny Glover and Costner portray the lead characters – Paden, Emmett, Mal and Jake respectively – and they all garnered significant acclaim for their performances.
Review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes commented on the picture: “Boasting rich detail and a well-told story, Silverado is a rare example of an ’80s Hollywood Western done right.”
In 2005 and 2008, the picture was acknowledged by the American Film Institute in the 100 Years of Film Scores list and the AFI’s 10 Top 10 list.
Enthusiastic viewers flocked to IMDb to express their opinions on the film, with one writing: “Silverado is a phenomenal Western that’s funny, thrilling and emotional and just plain fun. Scott Glenn, Kevin Kline, Kevin Costner and Danny Glover are all incredible.”
