Fox News host Laura Ingraham has slammed Mark Hamill after the Star Wars actor joked about President Donald Trump dying.
The Hollywood icon came under fire from the White House on Thursday, May 7, after he shared an image on social media depicting the president lying in a grave with a headstone behind him with the words “if only” written across it. The AI generated image caused uproar and prompted a statement from the Trump administration.
In response, the White House Rapid Response account wrote, “[Mark Hamill] is one sick individual. These Radical Left lunatics just can’t help themselves. This kind of rhetoric is exactly what has inspired three assassination attempts in two years against our President.”
Now, White House Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy Stephen Miller’s wife, Katie Miller, has also hit out at Mark while speaking with Laura on Fox News.
Laura said, “OK, everyone’s entitled to his or her opinion, First Amendment. But for a group that claims to be all about compassion and tolerance, they’re the most intolerant people on the face of the planet. What message is sending our kids?”
Katie replied, “The most intolerant people are the ones who have the lawn signs that say hate has no home here. That’s exactly where hate has a home in America. What you see is after now three assassination attempts on President Trump’s life, that yet Democrats and these far-left radicals continue once again to have this hateful and violent political rhetoric, and rhetoric that, frankly, is a call to arms to these people.
“You saw that with the latest assassination attempt, right? He was called to arms by the same people that are Mark Hamill. Yet, why hasn’t Disney denounced Mark Hamill when they fired Gina Carano?
“If you remember that, during COVID, she was fired for her outspoken conservative views. Disney immediately fired her. They’ve said nothing about Mark Hamill today.
“Three days ago, President Barack Obama appeared with Mark Hamill in a video. Yet where is he condemning this action? He’s the one that says we need to calm and tone down that rhetoric.”
Viewers then commented on a clip of the exchange with one writing on X,”Hey Laura. Honey. Dips—. Mark Hamill doesn’t work for Disney. Hope that helps!”
A second said, “I have a new conspiracy, Mark Hamill is trying to hurt Disney to the point where Disney decides to sell Star Wars back to George Lucas. Then we can make the real sequels.”
A third posted, “I know you guys are into cancel culture now but can you explain how you can fire someone who doesn’t work for you?”
A fourth added, “Mark Hamill’s post didn’t call for violence. You people can’t read beyond the photo. One of the assassination attempts was by a Republican.”
A fifth shared, “Mark Hamill is dumb but he’s not employed by Disney so I’m curious as to why you or anyone else are expecting them to say or do anything about it.”
