Francis Ford Coppola Forced To Sell Million-Dollar Watch Collection After $120M Film ‘Megalopolis’ Flops: ‘I Need To Get Some Money!’

Francis Ford Coppola’s most recent film, Megalopolis, was a self-funded passion project that reportedly cost over $120 million to produce. However, the film has flopped at the box office, grossing around $14.3 million worldwide, with some sources estimating domestic earnings as low as $7.6 million.

This significant financial loss has led Coppola to auction off seven of his multimillion-dollar watches from his personal collection at Phillips Auction House in New York.

Among the watches he chose to sell is a unique piece designed in collaboration with Swiss watchmaker F.P. Journe, valued at approximately $1 million. The other watches include a Blancpain Minute Repeater, another F.
