FRANKLIN, NH — Franklin Savings Bank has awarded a $6,000 grant to Tapply-Thompson Community Center to help equip a new music room in Franklin.

The grant will support the purchase of instruments and other music gear for the space. It will also help pay for lights, soundproofing equipment, furniture, and secure cabinets to store the instruments.

Tapply-Thompson Community Center offers youth activities including Summer Day Camps, Youth Sports, After School Programs, Teen Programming, Special Events and enrichment programs. The center’s new music offering is called The Learn to Love Music Program.

“This generous grant award from the Franklin Savings Bank Fund for Community Advancement will allow us to put the finishing touches on our new music program,” Mark Dionne, the grants and community engagement manager at the center, said. “The Tapply-Thompson Community Center (TTCC) will now be able to outfit and furnish our new music room with lighting, soundproofing and secure spaces for our amazing array of new instruments. With the help from our community partners such as Franklin Savings Bank (FSB), we will be holding guitar, ukulele, and drumming classes.”

The bank said the project supports a community space centered on connection, creativity, and growth. The music room is intended to serve people of all ages.

“We believe that a thriving community is built on opportunities for connection, creativity, and growth. Supporting the new music room at Tapply-Thompson Community Center means investing in a space where people of all ages can come together, express themselves, and discover their talents,” Brian Bozak, the president & CEO of Franklin Savings Bank, said. “We’re proud to help bring more music — and joy — to the heart of our community.”
