The 2026 FIFA World Cup may be taking place across the river in New Jersey at MetLife Stadium, but New Yorkers will have plenty of chances to join the celebration without leaving the city.

New York City Tourism + Conventions and the five Borough Presidents have shared that throughout the tournament, free community events will take place across all five boroughs, featuring watch parties, live music, cultural performances, food vendors, and family activities. With the World Cup Final scheduled for the New York-New Jersey area, the city is spreading the festivities beyond the stadium and into parks, beaches, museums, and public spaces.

Brooklyn’s Brooklyn Mundial series will host watch parties throughout the tournament. The Greenpoint event on June 17 will feature screenings of Panama vs. Ghana and Colombia vs. Uzbekistan alongside performances from Los Rakas, Flama, DJ Mista Sinesta, Maraca Bruja, and others. A second event in Bushwick on June 19 includes Brazil vs. Haiti and performances from Eli Heffi, DJ De La Cieba, Kaila Bule, and a Haitian drumming group. Later in the month, Cypress Hills will host another gathering with music from DJ Toshi and Rockness Monsta.

In the Bronx, the 2026 World Cup celebrations will be a collaboration with the borough’s Summer Concert Series. A kickoff event at Orchard Beach on July 12 will feature live music, food, vendors, and community activities. Earlier in the tournament, a Pride-themed event at The Hub helped launch the borough’s World Cup programming.

Manhattan will host public watch parties at two well-known venues on June 27. Fans can catch Colombia vs. Portugal at United Palace in Washington Heights or head to SummerStage in Central Park for Panama vs. England. Both events will include food, community programming, and entertainment surrounding the matches.

Queens will host some of the largest public gatherings during the tournament. The Queens Night Market’s Soccer Sundays series will bring match screenings and international food vendors to Flushing Meadows Corona Park, while Queens Botanical Garden will offer outdoor quarterfinal screenings on July 11. The borough will also host multiple World Cup Final watch parties, including events at Queens Borough Hall and MoMA PS1.

On Staten Island, the World Cup Final will be shown at Midland Beach on July 19. Along with the match, visitors can expect food vendors, family activities, rides, and live entertainment throughout the afternoon.

With matches drawing fans from around the world, these events give New Yorkers a chance to experience the tournament’s energy in their own communities while celebrating the cultures that make the city one of the most diverse places on earth.
