The great rooms associated with the University of Missouri will ring with sound, dialogue and palpable momentum when the 118th season of the University Concert Series kicks off Oct. 4 with a concert by Missouri favorites Ozark Mountain Daredevils.
The Concert Series consistently delivers quality entertainment across music, theater and dance. Here are just five potential highlights of the 2025-26 season:
Oct. 15: Tommy Dorsey Orchestra at Missouri Theatre
Tommy Dorsey Orchestra
Paying tribute to the spirit and songs of the early 20th-century bandleader, this modern-day ensemble will stir up timeless, romantic feelings. Tickets are $51-$62.
Oct. 26: Soweto Gospel Choir at Jesse Auditorium
One of the stalwart vocal ensembles of its generation, this multiple Grammy-winning South African chorus will perform everything from “freedom songs” and spirituals to the music of Peter Gabriel, Kate Bush and Leonard Cohen, the Concert Series promises. $41-$62.
Feb. 13: ‘Forever Motown’ at Jesse Auditorium
Relive one of the great — if not the greatest — eras in pop music with this show that touches on the songs of The Temptations, The Supremes, Marvin Gaye and more. $53-$72.
March 11, 2026: ‘The Wizard of Oz’ on Ice at Jesse Auditorium
We’re not in Kansas anymore: This cool take on the beloved story of Dorothy and her pals takes place on smooth ice, not a yellow brick road. $47-$64.
May 2, 2026: ‘Spamilton: An American Parody’ at Jesse Auditorium
If you dig the wildly-successful “Hamilton,” you’ll get the references in this spoof foisted upon audiences by Forbidden Broadway mastermind Gerard Alessandrini; the show also takes digs at the likes of “Chicago,” “Camelot” and “The Book of Mormon.” $53-$72.
