COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Downtown Coldwater is set to transform into a vibrant global hub on Saturday, as the third annual Cultural Jubilee takes over Tibbits Plaza and South Hanchett Street.
The highly anticipated afternoon festival, themed “A Gathering of Neighbors,” runs from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and showcases an exceptionally diverse lineup of live entertainment.
You can experience traditional Arab Dabke dancing performed by Samer, Spanish Flamenco by Ballet Folklorico, and a showcase of Yemeni traditional dance from local community members.
Adding to the rich musical landscape, the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi will present a Pow Wow exhibition and invite the public to participate in a collective drum circle.
The celebration continues late into the afternoon with a performance by the Sound of Haiti, bringing energetic island songs to the main stage.
Local organizers extended the festival hours this year specifically to ensure community members working day shifts could catch the live Haitian music.
Throughout the entire event, DJ Meira will host and spin global tracks to keep energy high between the live stage acts. Beyond the main performances, the event offers a dynamic street-fair experience featuring interactive cultural exhibits, a futsal tournament hosted by the Coldwater High School soccer team, local food trucks, and family activities sponsored by groups like the Coldwater Community Center.
