Actress Gwyneth Paltrow has teamed up with her daughter Apple Martin for a new GapStudio campaign.
The Oscar-winning actress, 53, and her daughter, 21, are promoting the brand’s Fall/Winter 2025 collection, designed by Zac Posen. The campaign highlights more than just fashion, with Paltrow and Martin offering a glimpse into their close relationship.
Paltrow shared the story behind her daughter’s distinctive name, crediting her ex-husband Chris Martin with the idea. “Actually her dad came up with the name. It’s so her I can’t imagine anything else,” she said. She also praised Apple’s individuality, adding, “She has amazing style, all her own.”
Apple, a student at Vanderbilt University, described her own approach to fashion as “simple but like with a twist. And then obviously stuff from my mom.”
Paltrow revealed, “She goes and takes a lot of my ’90s clothes.” Apple admitted, “I don’t know if it’s stealing, but I’m stealing it,” before whispering the last part.
Earlier this month, Apple was also announced as the face of London-based brand Self-Portrait, joining names such as Gigi Hadid, Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss, and Jisoo. The brand has also been worn by Beyonce, Michelle Obama, Selena Gomez, and Olivia Rodrigo.
Despite her fashion ventures, Apple is focused on her studies. She is a junior at Vanderbilt, majoring in law, history, and society. “I’m a law, history, and society major but…maybe I’ll take a theater course before I leave,” she told Interview magazine in April.
She also participates in Vanderbilt Original Cast, the university’s cabaret theater group. “This semester’s show is a musical parody of Love Island called Love on an Island. It’s so fun. The songs are phenomenal,” she said.
“Vibes are great, honestly. It’s so much easier for me to get out of bed and walk to class when it’s pretty outside. Um, yeah,” she shared about her college experience.
