After over a decade together, Jessie Cave and Alfie Brown are making it official!
The Harry Potter actress and her comedian beau announced their engagement on Sunday in a sweet Instagram post. “12 years and 4 kids later …. It’s getting serious!!!” Cave, 38, wrote alongside a photo of herself showing off her new gold ring while snuggled up to Brown.
She also shared a close-up image of the diamond band via Instagram Stories. She set the photo to the Dixie Cups’ “Chapel of Love.”
Cave is known for her role as Lavender Brown in the Harry Potter film series. She is also an author, cartoonist, and playwright, and wrote and performed Sunrise in 2019, which explores her personal life, relationships, and motherhood.

She and Brown share four children, Donnie, 11, Margot, 9, Abraham, 5, and Becker, 3.
Before their engagement, Cave and Brown had an on-and-off relationship for years and openly shared stories on their podcast, Before We Break Up Again.
To celebrate their 12th anniversary in January, Cave shared a reel of family photos. “Twelve years today since I got pregnant on our ‘one night stand,'” she wrote.
“It is my natural response to try and find humor in things,” Cave told Fabric in 2021. “I think that it is something that I learnt from awkward things happening early on in life and having to decide if it was going to break me, or if I was going to carry on. I have always found comedy to be the easiest therapy. I did Sunrise over 150 times. Towards the end, it felt like nothing to me to stand on stage and reveal this stuff about myself.”

She added to The Guardian at the time, “I don’t have any secrets, and I feel a bit safer in that way.”
