The Emmys are here — streaming tonight, Sunday, Sept. 14 on Paramount+ Premium (you need a subscription), and on CBS from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. (EST). The 77th Emmy Awards will broadcast live to both coasts from the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles. If you don’t have cable, make sure to hit up a friend who has Paramount+ Premium to watch it live, or shell out and upgrade from Paramount+ Essential.

Paramount+ Premium plan subscribers will have access to stream live via the live feed of their local CBS affiliate on the service, as well as on demand.

Paramount+ Essential subscribers will not have the option to stream live but will have on-demand access the day after.

Who will host the Emmys?

Comedian Nate Bargatze will host the Emmys.

Which show has most nominations?

The show with the most nominations is “Severance,” the dystopian science fiction thriller set in the workplace on Apple TV+, based on the bestselling book by Ling Ma. The show bagged lead acting nominations for stars Adam Scott and Britt Lower. Following closely are Seth Rogen’s comedy “The Studio,” on Apple TV+ with 23 nominations and “The White Lotus” on HBO.

Set re-creations of old time favorites

The awards ceremony will include set re-creations to celebrate anniversaries of old-time television favorites such as “The Gilmore Girls”, which will celebrate its 25th anniversary with mom and daughter co-stars Lauren Graham and Alexis Bedel.

“Survivor” will mark its 50th season and all four of “The Golden Girls” will toast their 40th anniversary by singing the show’s theme song on a recreated set of its iconic kitchen.

Could North Jersey’s Stephen Colbert land first ‘Late Show’ Emmy?

New Jersey’s own Stephen Colbert’s “The Late Show,” which was cancelled in July and will end its run in May of 2026 — a move quickly celebrated by President Trump whom Colbert has regularly criticized on air — was followed immediately by FCC approval for the show’s broadcaster CBS to merge with Paramount.

Colbert lives in Montclair. His show will face off with other late night talk shows “Jimmy Kimmel Live” and “The Daily Show”.

While Colbert has won Emmys for proevious work, he has been nominated but yet to win one for “The Late Show, despite its success and ratings. It could be in the running to win tonight, especially given its politicized cancellation last year on television after a decade’s run, say media watchers.

The show’s director bagged its first Emmy statuette last week at the Creative Arts Emmys.

‘Law and Order,’ ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ celebrate big anniversaries

Also celebrating anniversaries are marathon hit series “Law & Order” and “Grey’s Anatomy.”

You can catch stars Mariska Hargitay, Tony Goldwyn and Christopher Meloni and others from the many L&O franchises marking the show’s 35th anniversary. Cast members Eric Dane and Jesse Williams of hospital intrigues “Grey’s Anatomy” will also be on stage for the show’s 20th anniversary.
